Hello, I just got my Mavic Air and yesterday was the first flight. It was great. Today I did an update before calabrated the compass and when I restarted the aircraft found the rear status indicator flashing 6 normal green flashes followed by 2 long red flashes ( about 2 seconds). I have recalibrated the compass several times and calabraited the imu once. All systems say normal. I went to a park 1 block from my house and the red flashes were gone. When returned to my house the red flashes were back. Have had no issues with my Phantom 2 or my Flame wheel 450 anywhere near my house. Am thinking this may be due to the update this morning. What does 6 green flashes followed by 2 red flashes mean? The drone seems to fly fine but am not going to do more than hover a few feet away.
Thanks for any info.  JP

Hi  JP, just to verify, the issue only appears near your house, right? If yes, you may check whether your house is near GEO or in GEO from here: https://www.dji.com/flysafe/geo-map

Holy cow, the map clearly shows my house is under an altitude restriction zone probably for the IFR approach to the airport over 15 miles away. It also shows the park is not. The app did say I was in a altitude restriction zone of 394 ft. but that is every where in the US. I take it that it is safe to fly the drone with the light flashing 6 green and 2 red  as long as I am under the altitude limit right? This thing is amazing!!!

It will be OK as long as you follow the local regulations. If there is any further question, feel free to contact us. Wish you have a good time!

It's a Proximity Alert for an NFZ.  Skip to 3:50 in this video and you'll see it several times as I pass an NFZ just off to the west (left).

Thanks for the quick reply to my question Susan and Dirty Bird.  I watched the video Dirty Bird and yep that's it. I thought I would just watch to the 3:50 point but watched till the end. Wow what a cool video, nice job. Although you did have some rather unique named assistance LOL.

I don't normally watch such long videos but this one was awesome.

Well done Dirty Bird. I am pleased to see in the credits that you got clearance for this epic flight

Just one question, how came you never lost connection when orbiting the large buildings?

Thank you.  This is a programmed Litchi Waypoint mission.  Once the mission is loaded & launched no RC contact is required.  The bird flies on as programmed.  In the video anytime the lead bird's status lights are flashing rapid yellow there is no RC contact.  This mission was flown by a pair of P3 Standards which have short RC range.  The birds are flying the mission autonomously.

Thanks for the reply, I saw 'Litchi' in the credits so should have picked this up.

So about the flight. You had it very well synchronized so did you upload the same Litchi mission to both aircraft  and just take off a few seconds after each other?

If so, it's a great advertisement for Litchi and the positioning capability of the DJI onboard GPS systems.
