yes they are omnidirectional they emitt in every direction nearly equally.
the standard built in antennas on the controller emit a slightly collapsed sphere shaped radiation pattern

Does anyone know if the "range boosters" that slide over the antennas that are included in the fly more package, actually increase reception distance?

For me,  (ce area) it made no difference.  It gets worse if you turn your remote from the drone, what i do quite often. So i dont use them anymore

Maybe somebody use alienware boosters in ce area? Its better signal and distance or its waste money?

You can always go FCC or boost 1.5watt on mavic pro.
With that you have signal about 15km away!!! So there really is no need for any additional bigger antennas for the mavic pro.
For the mavic air and spark yes, but for mavic pro no.

About warranty, DJI confirmed that the warranty is not affected if you fly in FCC mode, it was asked before. You don’t do any physical modifications to the drone.
You don’t need to use the fake gps app, it’s only needed for WiFi drones, mavic air and spark.
I do the switch on version 4.1.10 on Android, then without turning off the drone, I switch and fly on my iPad air2, either in FCC mode or boosted, was flying always boosted before, but today flew in FCC to 6147 meters one way with no issues, so I’ll stick to FCC, it’s already good anough to last you until the whole battery if you want if think, but that needs some good planning

Fly safely and enjoy
