Hey there,

Looking to get some help for a P4P that I just bought "used", but really with only a handful of flights on it.

I just upgraded the firmware on the bird itself via the DJI Assistant 2 app for Mac. Whenever I try to calibrate the gimbal, it gets stuck at 50%. Also, I noticed that when I shot some video with it in the air, I was getting some massive jello effect.

How can I fix this?

Hi there, sorry for the trouble. For the Jello effect, this issue may occur when there is debris on the gimbal unit. Kindly hold the yaw axis motor with one hand, as shown on the screenshot below in the figure on the left, and turn the damping unit forward, downward, left and right. After that, please calibrate the gimbal again. If the issue persists, please let me know. Thanks for your support.

Aloha Sebastian,

     You might want to try an IMU calibration.  Sometimes, the adaptive settings exceed other limits and it gets stuck.  If you try the IMU calibration, it resets the limits.  Certainly worth a try.

     In a previous product, I had to reverse the sequence to get a clean calibration.  Remember, we are flying a network of three computer systems.  Each one is interrelated with the other.  It can get complex.

Thanks for that! I did try the IMU calibration, but still getting stuck at 50% on the gimbal calibration. I've tried downgrading the firmware, and then upgrading again to the newest firmware, but still having the same issue. Any idea on what a next step could be? I'll try again for the jello video tomorrow when it's light out to see if I'm still getting that.

     OK, we may be out of easy solutions now.  When you say "Stuck at 50%", how long are you letting it sit there working on it?  It is a slow computer with a lot of calculations to do.

     Which IMU calibration did you try, the short or the long version.  The long version has you pull the props and put the Phantom in different positions (including up-side-down, I think).  Also, are you on a level surface as measured with a level?

     Perhaps most important, could you go into the manual gimbal alignment setting and be sure it is reset to "0".  Then try a gimbal calibration again.  This one stumped me for a month one time.

Thank you for your advice. After fixing the problem as comment 2#

I fixed the problem by Reset All Settings Gimbal.

Gimbal Settings > Camera Gimbal Advanced Settings > Reset All Setting
