I am planning to fly my phantom usingiPad ground station and datalink setup.
I have got couple of questions before I try it out:
(1) Can you set the waypoints for on a location (where I’m planning to fly)from a different location (say where I’ve internet connectivity to view mapetc.) and then fly?
(2) During the autonomous flight -
(a)   If the air-end and ground end connectivity is lost before the mission iscompleted, will it continue to fly and finish the mission or will it come backto home immediately? Is there any settings for this?
(b)  If the signal is lost between Phantom MC and RC before the mission iscompleted, will it go to fail safe mode?

Can anyone share some experience inthis regard?

1. Yes, the first time you install the software, make sure you download the map on where you want to fly
2. The waypoint mission will be continued, if the aircraft operates fully-autonomous mission, regardless of Tx signal and datalink signal. Datalink Signal lost will cause Go Home function if aircraft is in the situation of waiting for next mission.

HI Cathy,

that is exactly, what the aircraft is not doing...I tested the scenario (waiting for next mission, TX failsafe (GHome)triggered, DataLink lost)..
In the manual it´s described as second Line protection
