I only experienced .300 update for a couple weeks or so before committing to .400 update. When I got my Mavic Air it was .300.
.400 introduced a range of connection issues, looser signal quality, and glitches like yaw glitch, also first time my Mavic Air ignored my input and scared me like my spark did. I had 2 battery failures (one warranties by DJI other from a amazon seller) however one was more my fault for flying too low power, the other was a bad battery or bad telemetry either way bad one was Warrentied.
.500 came out and updated right away. I had a list of issues including update related issues I had to refresh a few times because my drone was very buggy after initial update. Now I have a RTH glitch that it sometimes initiated RTH and just sits there facinbtg my direction not moving up, down, forward or backwards or any which way... just sits there for an alarming amount of time burning power. I no longer have yaw glitch, but I do have the glitch where is signal issues it may ignore the controller and keep moving as well as. Reduced signal quality from .400.
Downgraded and updated .500 applied something can’t reverse it appears not sure what.. because some .500 specific bugs appear for me in .400 and I didn’t see them in .400 before and yaw glitch no longer an issue for me like it was in .400where was sometimes hard to fly ina. Straight line and the drone would sometimes just slowly rotate itself mid air for no reason this is patched after rolling back so some of .500 update sticks even during a rollback.
Inconclusion I’m not entirely sure... .300 for me was less buggy but it’s what my Mavic Air arrived with and was probably applied correctly at factory and thus less buggy in nature being original device firmware for my drone. .500 is what I would call stable as it doesn’t experiance any hard crashes but not what I would call refined or polished.. people still having issues with their drones maybe if which are firmware/software related, me included which can be either corrected with software or optimized to occur less often or less severely. |
