Waypoint 2.0 is a reskey to fly in Cityes.
blindly we need to select the way points on map  and we need to fly,
in the map we cannot see any nearby objects if you go to the real place only we can find all the objects like altitude latitude.
if there is any cell towers and building towers we cannot control.
2.0 is only useful in outdoors location.
as of my experience the older version is only the best
we can select  the live elevations ,attitude, latitude and lock the waypoint.

In most countries it's forbidden to fly in cities anyway, so what's your point?

In previous version we are having a live view to lock the waypoint,
In 2.0 live view option is not there.
in previous version only one time you need to work hard.
But in 2.0 you need to do multiple shots still up to you  get perfect shot , to get a perfect video or photos shoot it will take 5 to 10 takes.

I have had similar experiences.
Especially guessing the right altitude for WP, rather than flying to the right points and recording them.
The POI height is crucial to program the tilt of the gimbal.

I am wondering why DJI completely replaced the in flight WP recording, rather than allowing both ways to record them.
