I will say I’m very impressed with my Mavic 2 zoom, I wanted to test the range and see if it held up to the 8km... very very impressed, 5.7 miles .... could of gone farther but had to bring it back due to battery life .

From what I read the range is restricted under CAA regulations here in the UK although as a newbie I do panic when mine goes temporarily out of VLOS behind a tree or something.

God only knows what my heartrate would increase to if I deliberately flew it any distance...

That's quite a ways, I have to agree with GlynH, being a newbie as well, I get troubled if it goes more than about three long blocks

So is that 5.7 miles one way or round trip? If it's one way then your 1.4 miles beyond advertised and if it's round trip then your 1.4 miles less than advertised for range.

I think he meant one way

Thats one way , I have trust in the gps and mavic 2 system itself, plus I was in the dessert testing it out .

Awesome, I too am very happy with my M2pro range test that I did couple of months ago, this is round trip.

Nice!! M2’s awesome drones, they can easily exceed advertised range... it’s all in signal interferes and LOS.

He wrote that it was one way and he had to turn around so he could make it back.  I consistently get 4.5 miles but upon return battery is usually 15 percent so 5.7 miles wow I could not reach that only due to battery.  I do have remote mods but no battery mod yet.

There are plenty of comments about range and I need some advice. I use my mavic pro with the remote controller and my iPhone plugged in for viewing. What's a basic 'settings' tweak for extending the range?What can I change to increase it?

Your Mavic Pro should already be able to fly way beyond visual line of sight (2.5 miles in ideal conditions). So the advice might be to fly it where you can see it and not risk losing it, or worse still, prosecution for flying beyond VLOS as happened to somebody quite recently in the U.K.
