Agree.. I also used his app for my parrot bebop2. I think it is more user friendly...
And regarding the dji admins comments, i believe they hae to, so they dont get sewed, because some noob did something wrong and crashed...i never had crashes or anything similar with michelle's app.s. Not what i can say about djigo, and freeflightpro for parrot
I use FreeFlight Pro with my Disco and to date I’ve not had an issue, saying that though I haven’t updated to the latest version due to some of the issues that some Bebop users have reported. I also use FreeFlight6 with my Anafi and again, after many flights not one hiccup. I’m thankfull that Parrot saw the error of their ways and reduced the price of their add on features (Waypoint, advanced autonomy) from their original price of $30 per add on to $0.99 per add on.
I think what sticks in many owners throats is that DJI drop support for a model after they release the next best and greatest model. I don’t think there’s been any improvements for the Spark since they released the Mavic Air. This is common practice across their entire product range. Even the still very popular Naza V2, and Naza Lite, hasn’t received any love in the last four years. We are still seeing quite a few Spark owners experiencing the Compass/GPS/IMU issues but the Spark community hasn’t seen anything of a proactive response from DJI themselves. It’s left up to the knowledgeable individuals in this forum to analyse the logs and provide a detailed breakdown of the data to the poor victims.
All this might be a cultural thing as other Chinese manufacturers of proprietary hardware appear to follow this business model. I’ve experienced this same degree of apathy from the likes of Simtoo, FlyShark, Walkera, to name but a few. In many cases it has been the community that has backward engineered the code to provide opensource solutions. This isn’t too different from 3rd parties utilising DJI’s public SDK to provide features and enhancements to models that DJI appear to have neglected.
