Made a little video with a guide to make waypoints in flightplan, using Spark Pro.
Had to fast forward at times, but the great thing about video is, you can pause it.

Hello and good day Joller79 DK. Thank you for sharing this video with us today. I am sorry but the waypoints feature is not available with our DJI Spark and using any third party may void the warranty in any case the aircraft will experience an incident while using the application. Thanks for understanding. Have a safe flight.

There are several solutions to fly waypoints(even some mavic pro flightmodes)
with a dji go 4 mod app and dji mod missions(save a preplanned mission, and when using the dji go4 mod you see the mission there).

Michele Vagnetti has done an excellent job in authoring this application and to date, about four months of use, I’ve not experienced any issues. To the best of my knowledge it was authored using the official DJI SDK and for a DJI representative to make the above comment is somewhat hypocritical. The DJIGO4 app has become extremely bloated in its “one app to rule them all” construction and probably accounts for the majority of problems users have been facing, such as:

Compatibility across the different flavours of Android and device models.
Performance issues reported by users of one model after enhancements have been made to another model.
Releasing an incomplete update and utilising the user base as unknowing Beta testers.

I’m sure other users could add more examples to the list.

Spark owners have for a long time been requesting official waypoint support for the Spark but the response is “It is something we’ll pass on to our developers” and/or  “The Spark does not support Waypoints”. The fact is the Spark is more than capable of supporting a waypoint feature as ably demonstrated by these 3rd party apps.  It was once just speculation but more credence has been added to the notion that DJI’s reluctance to incorporate this feature is in an effort to push the customer to invest in the more expensive models. It’s not as if it’s particularly difficult to incorporate this feature, i was flying waypoint missions with home built kit and opensource code back in 2012 on mobile platforms with significantly less processing power.

Ranty Rant Over.

Nidge.

Agree.. I also used his app for my parrot bebop2. I think it is more user friendly...
And regarding the dji admins comments, i believe they hae to, so they dont get sewed, because some noob did something wrong and crashed...i never had crashes or anything similar with michelle's app.s. Not what i can say about djigo, and freeflightpro for parrot

Well it is their (DJI's) hardware so they can say anything that they want about how we can use it.  It is then our decision as to how/if we will use their HW and follow their advise.
It's logical to say that DJI is not willing to add features to the Spark to drive customers to the more expensive units.  They are, after all, a business and must make money.  I, however, believe that the Spark is a good entry level option with enough features to make it the price point leader.
If we happen to find a 3rd party app that extends those features in a desirable way then that is a good thing.  We then have to accept DJI's position on our use of those features/apps.
I love my Spark - and was glad to get it at such a reasonable cost.

I use FreeFlight Pro with my Disco and to date I’ve not had an issue, saying that though I haven’t updated to the latest version due to some of the issues that some Bebop users have reported. I also use FreeFlight6 with my Anafi and again, after many flights not one hiccup. I’m thankfull that Parrot saw the error of their ways and reduced the price of their add on features (Waypoint, advanced autonomy) from their original price of $30 per add on to $0.99 per add on.

I think what sticks in many owners throats is that DJI drop support for a model after they release the next best and greatest model. I don’t think there’s been any improvements for the Spark since they released the Mavic Air. This is common practice across their entire product range. Even the still very popular Naza V2, and Naza Lite, hasn’t received any love in the last four years. We are still seeing quite a few Spark owners experiencing the Compass/GPS/IMU issues but the Spark community hasn’t seen anything of a proactive response from DJI themselves. It’s left up to the knowledgeable individuals in this forum to analyse the logs and provide a detailed breakdown of the data to the poor victims.

All this might be a cultural thing as other Chinese manufacturers of proprietary hardware appear to follow this business model. I’ve experienced this same degree of apathy from the likes of Simtoo, FlyShark, Walkera, to name but a few. In many cases it has been the community that has backward engineered the code to provide opensource solutions. This isn’t too different from 3rd parties utilising DJI’s public SDK to provide features and enhancements to models that DJI appear to have neglected.
Regards

Nidge
