The snowshoeing was a lot of fun, and the forst was spectacular under a thing coat of sparkling snow. Flying was tricky due to the fact that the mountain where we were snowshoeing was lost in clouds and fog. After about ten minutes of flying the Mavic 2 started behaving oddly, and kept losing altitude while hovering, then it tried to auto-land while the controller emitted a warning noise. I managed to pilot it back, and this is what I found!
The lesson here is that you must be especially cautious of cold and wet conditions! However, it was worth it for shots like this:
I'm planning to a lot of skiing over the next few months, and am going to be doing a lot more flying in the snowy mountains!
It's an icing phenomenon.
The ice on the propellers causes the Spoiler to lose power, leading to a crash.
Anyway, thanks for sharing a nice video.
Fly safely.

Wow!!! Didn't see someone snowshoeing in ages now.... seems like everyone switched to ski touring. Triggered a bit of nostalgia in me. Nicely done!
Thanks! I really enjoy snowshoeing , it's a long time family tradition.

Thank you! It was a lot of fun, went snowshoeing again today but it was way too windy to fly.
Wow, very nice video, seems you have so much fun, glad you get the drone back, maybe you can write a thread about how to fly in cold weather and the tips
