Hello. I have a similar issue. The latest update is not working. In the beggining I was getting the message: “The device connection is unstable... “ then when trying again it gave me the error that the device isnt connected to the wifi. My mac was connected to wifi and the Device which it was refering to in my undersranding ‘Ronin S’ hasn’t got wifi. Now I am getting a different error again here is the screenshot

Has anyone found a fix for this yet? I also have a similar problem. I can downgrade and upgrade to every firmware version except for the latest, 1.8.0.70.

I just got this in the mail yesterday so if I can't get this to work today I'm just going to return it.

Just a quick update. Tech support has informed that this is a server issue, and not a hardware defect. The fix for this will come out in the next firmware revision. It's strange that they have to roll out a new version just to fix their server issue, but I guess that's how they do things.

Hi Ronin Beginner, sorry for the troubles on updating the firmware, I didn't hear of there is a server error, may I verify how did you contact our support? Please PM me your contact info.
When the latest firmware fails to be updated, please re-plug the cable, then restart the gimbal and update again.
If there is still no luck, please post the screenshot of the error message here and export the logs for further analysis, thank you.

I also experienced the same problem as above, so I got it replaced with a new product this week from DJI Support. However, the same problem is happening with the new product, and the upgrade to the 1.8.0.70 version has not been done yet.

DJI seems to have to feel more serious about this issue. First of all, I ask for a clear answer why this issue only occur in Ronin S purchased in 2019, but not in products purchased in 2018.

I just purchase a new Ronin S and successfully updated my firmware from version 1.4 through 1.7 successfully. On trying to upgrade to 1.8, I am experiencing the same kind of error: The download completes, it begins to install, the fails with the error "Device Connection is unstable". I've tried different computers, different cables, with the gimbal on, with it of, with the base on, with the base off, and every combination of the two. Same issue.

I have been able to successfully downgrade to 1.7, but I need the Nikon Z6 functionality of 1.8

Please help me resolve this ASAP. If I do not hear back by tomorrow I will return the unit. I don't want to miss my opportunity to return it if it turns out to be a hardware issue.

Thank You!

Hi DJI,

I'm having similar issues. I opened up my new Ronin S today. I returned my previous RS. This one doesn't beep when I turn it on. It doesn't respond well at all. I've tried updating the firmware and the upload fails at 99%, on all the versions.  (device Gimbal(3) is not connected!)

I dearly hope I don't have to return it again.
