I've owned a P4 for about 2.5 years.

Over the last few months I noticed that the remote controller would not charge to full capacity until a few weeks ago when it would not charge at all.

I raised the issue with DJI and sent the unit in for repair. Within an 8 day turnaround I was sent what looks like a brand new unit, It has charged to full capacity and I have linked it to my P4.

All good to go

And DJI did this free of charge.

18 months outside my warranty period.

Not sure about luck

I have read of cases like this, my guess is that DJI know of a manufacturing error in the original remote and are quietly (and decently) dealing with them as and when they crop up.
