How do you tell if it is actually using your external microphone. I have my rode vidoe micro connected with the trs plug does it need something different or is something broken.

Only way to tell is by tapping on or scratching the built-in mics, and doing that to your external mic, while recording video, and listening to playback.

Its kinda sad that there is no way to see if its working through the accessories page...
