Hello all. Recently purchased by first drone. Used Phantom 3 Advanced. Looking for recommendations on a budget tablet sub $200 that works well with it. Currently using my phone and it's hard to see. Thanks for any input.

That was on my list but seen a couple forum posts of people having issues with the A. But I suppose someone would run into issues at some point using any tablet.

If you can find a Nvidia Shield, they work great. I have an Advanced and have had the shield for 5- years now without issue. They used to be $200 brand new, but they quit making them, but I think you may find some used ones. I have four other close friends that also have the shield and they also have had good success.

The price is the last thing you should consider when getting a flying tablet.
The app is very demanding and you will be disappointed if you use a tablet that's not up to the task.
What really matters is that it has a fast enough processor and enough RAM.

There are 2 different versions of the Tab A, the 7 inch and the 10.1 inch. The 7 inch only has a 1.3Ghz 4 core Processor and 1.5 GB of RAM, while the 10.1 inch has 1.6 Ghz 8 core processor and 2 GB of RAM....perhaps that is why those others don't work so well.

iPad mini 2 works great with the Phantoms

I have a iPad Air 2, and it works great as well.

Huawei MediaPad M3 (10.1") -  I use this and its faultless!!

If you fly outdoors, the biggest factor for me was brightness.  Even an iPad Mini 4 is hard to see in bright sunlight.  While pricey, the solution for me was Crystalsky,

I use Huawei MediaPad M5 (8.7") 4 GB Ram works without problems in phantom 3 std, Phantom 3 SE and Mavic pro

I have all Samsung/Android devices so I would rather not go Apple. Thanks for the input though.

If you’re on a budget and are in need of a new tablet, or you want to buy one as a present for someone, XP-Pen Star05 V2 Wireless tablet is a great choice!
