Yes. I used it for La Scala and Manarolo. Amazing feature! Used Kolor Autopano for stitching.

Inspiring - there seems to be more emphasis on video than photo in most discussions here, but this shows what can be done with the Pocket used for photos in skilled hands.

I'd suggest you Northern Italy. It's a is huge and full of interesting places to visit.
I recommend you choose coastal, lakes or mountain locations.
A good base to visit San Marino is Rimini , you can do all your daytrips by train:
4 nights in Viareggio/Forte dei Marmi: daytrips to other places in Tuscany (Pisa, Lucca, Florence, etc.)
4 nights in Rimini: daytrips to San Marino, Ravenna, Bologna, etc.
4 nights in Venice: daytrip to all the islands in the lagoon
4 nights on Lake Garda: daytrip to Verona
