Hi all,

Upgraded my phone to Samsung Galaxy S10+ a couple of months back. It did not work with Spark at all. Through this forum, some great folks helped me out commenting on my old post about this issue and it was all resolved!!

It's all of a sudden last week it stopped working completely again..... No changes, no updates so why can i no longer use OTG only teh very unreliable WiFi?!!!!!!

The OTG charges the device firstly, which is an old problem i had fixed  previously with the Samsung S8 and resolved that issue with developer settings in phone.

So the method was -

Turn on RC await red light,
Plug in OTG to phone, then it says its charging and came up with Inspire message too, press OK to both and DJI app Launched.
Once app launched, turn on Spark and hey presto all connected and fly happily with OTG again.

This no longer works and i have tried all combinations to no avail.

I now can only connect via the ridiculously unreliable wifi option!

REALLY HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP

Still love my spark and intended on keeping it even when i do get the Mavic 2

Have you checked which mode your USB port on the phone is in?

Well I haven't changed any setting since it last worked....

Do you mean developer settings / debugging?

Yes,  you might have had a security update that changed it for you.

Ive rebooted everything, deleted DJI GO reinstalled it and same crap situation exists!!!!

Oh well, guess the only answer is sell my spark as its actually nearly pointless on wi-fi. Oooow look i managed to get 30 metres away from myself before losing video connection!!! LOLS!

Have you tried a different cable?

Different cable is worth trying.
Wrong direction of the cable, however, gets him just no connection at all, except charging the RC

Hmm. I use my S10+ and OTG to fly my spark all the time. Wonder what's up. I'd try another $3 OTG cable.

I haven't found that startup sequence matters. I usually turn on the spark, then the remote. While they're getting acquainted, I plug the OTG cable and launch GO4. By this time, drone and remote are connected and the phone is complaining that I have a slow charger. GO4 then tells me it's got to change network. About half a minute later (I really don't have any sense of time), it's ready to go.

For testing just get a simple otg adapter for a micro USB port, there you can use your data/charger samsung cable to connect to the phone. Also ebay is offering a lot of them, for a cheaper price. Just needs a week or two longer to get it.

Are your connectors in the RC still "good"?

Also, your "way':
--
Turn on RC await red light,
Plug in OTG to phone, then it says its charging and came up with Inspire message too, press OK to both and DJI app Launched.
--

Would make (imho) just sense, if on an older version, before 4.2.18 or so.
Since 4.2.21 is "otg officially supported", so however I plug it in, it starts as soon the RC is setup and connected to the phone.
And would need a little change:
Plug in FIRST into phone, before into steady red LED RC-socket.

But:
B/C I do think that "as newer, as more trouble", plus Android 9, I'd try the 4.1.15 mod 2.0
Which you need to connect the old way, plug into phone, wait till RC is steady red, plug in there.
The biggest advantage (aside the mavic flight modes ;-):
I have/had this version running on droid 6, 7, 8 and even on 9.
It always worked.

Some of the originals are buggy for the one or the other droid version.

Having the mod 2.0 on the phone, which will not update, at least as a reference, is, in my eyes, a good thing.
(aside all the nice flight modes, of course)

As an old technician, I always suspect the wire or the connector.

As a software developer, I always suspect an update.

You have a Galaxy S10 with USB C connector? There's no way you can get the cable the wrong way around without using a large tool. Oh. Maybe if you have a micro usb to usb C adapter.
