Looking for insurance which will protect my Mavic Pro 2 should it become lost / irrecoverable (b/c DJI's Care Refresh doesn't cover that). One of the companies I found is droneinsurance.com, which has an interesting pricing model. You pay a flat fee, then a second fee whenever you plan on flying. That way you're insured only when you truly need it (not when the drone is sitting at home on a shelf, in other words). Any opinions on this service? Or any other drone insurance provider? Thanks in advance.

It seems pretty good, regarding most of the reviews.  I'll try it out.

State Farm Personal Articles Policy!

The previous posts are about liability policies, but State Farm will only insure the drone itself, which is a different kind of insurance.

Liability got it. I use AMA.  If you join the AMA for $75 a year membership comes with a 2 million dollar liability insurance policy.

You failed to disclose the deductibles and the only $1000 coverage. $1000 doesn't cover my little finger in the amount of drones i have. I don't see anything about flyaways etc or am i reading this wrong? : https://www.modelaircraft.org/sites/default/files/memanual.pdf

Fire, Vandalism, and Theft Coverage
(Effective March 31)
• Provides up to $1,000 for loss of aircraft models and accessories,
including RC equipment. All theft loss claims must be accompanied
by a police report. NOTE: Theft has to occur from a locked vehicle
or residential dwelling. There must be physical evidence of violent
forcible entry.
• Has a $100 deductible.
• Is “excess” to any other applicable coverage such as homeowner’s
The liability insurance looks fine though....
