UK here, a unlock zone pop comes on the app. I tap unlock and than I am greeted with unable to lift due to restrictions.

Same here in New Zealand :-( dji still has time to make it a new years eve present...

Thanks for this information. Im on the same situation, new drone no fly, I really think this should be taked as a FRAUD they sold me something that I can Not use and my money it´s already gone!!!  I live on an island and everything its blue!!. Maybe we can do something legally. See ya.

Just tried it out of curiousity - still no go...

It shows green for a moment or three-until it gets a good sat lock and updates everything and then refuses to unlock.  It should not be a server based reply because if you do not have internet access you should still be able to allow the unlock.  I think you have an anomoly

You know what, you are absolutely right. The video is just someone saying they got an unlock. Nothing to show, and saying they got no kind of update. I believe I’ve read replies from mods saying the fix would come in the form of an update.

It seems likely that this was just a change in the database that lifted the restriction in just that one small area.  As he states, this was not a firmware or software update.

I doubt they'll be changing many of the map zones.  He just got lucky in that one area.

The thing everyone is waiting for is a firmware/app update.

True, it is possible that a map update turned a geozone into a non geozone and hence no restriction... i didnt think of that.

I don't really care who believes me.   Took a video of the flight, but proves nothing, as I said I don't have an image from when it was blue.  So it doesn't matter.
All I care about is that I can fly at home,   If you don't believe me, won't impact my life.

Nothing personal man, we’ve just been told so much we don’t know what to believe.It has has been told by mods and admins that a firmware and software update is on the way so forgive the skepticism please. I would like for this to all be true and everyone get unlocked.

This is nonsense the Drone does not talk to any servers as it does not have an internet connection itself unless your phone/tablet/screen is on and is connected. To allow a flight where it otherwise did not it has to update the information it has inside it. If no update came down the only reason it flew where it otherwise did not is because it did not get  GPS lock and therefore it did not know where it was.

Well I can confirm you 1.0.4 is out and as far as I can tell, the only thing added is the "lift restrictions" that affects you and that's it.

Well they added something that stops users from taking off without GPS which I think is great for newbies. It can be disabled though.

For me not so exciting since camera wise, they haven't changed anything.
Hope you can enjoy your mini soon.
