Hi Experts .

I need some help understanding the capabilities of the MM , I have the CE Version and i need a confirmation is my understanding of Range is Correct .

CE :
on 5.8 Ghz : 500m
on 2.4 Ghz : 2KM

In case you would use FCC in Europe , You can only use 5.8Ghz , but since RC/MM is FCC you might get the ability to boost your range up to 4KM ( FCC Range )

Would it be then ok to Fly FCC MM in Europe and expect same 5.8Ghz Range ( 4KM ) as in US ?

Another Question for CE , I havent seen my MM using 2.4Ghz at all , although i use it in Open Space ..No Interference or WiFi Singals or anything , Would be ok to Manually Choose 2.4Ghz and testing the limits , what would be the downside of Choosing Manual Frequncey/Channel selection ?

Using FCC model in Europe would power down transmition power from 1W to 100mw as soon as it gets GPS signal, so you would end up with 500m range without possibility to switch to 2,4GHz. There is a way maybe to trick it with some fake GPS app, but wouldn't suggest it. Personaly, i always use manual 2,4GHz since it gives much better range than 5,8GHz except when flying in urban heavily Wi-fi poluted area where, sometimes, you can get better result with 5,8GHz.

So it's like this:

FCC - 5,8 GHz - Power 1000 mW - range 4km (will power down to 100 mW if flown in CE regulated countries)
CE - 2,4 GHz - Power 100 mW - range 2km (better range but possibly more interference)
CE - 5,8 GHz - Power 100 mW - range 500m (less range but possibly less interference)

Hello and good day #WoOkieE#. Thank you for reaching out and for the information you have shared with us. If your DJI Mavic Mini is the CE version, then you can fly it normally in CE, SRRC, and FCC countries and regions. In an unobstructed environment free of interference, the max image transmission distance is as follows:
If it is a CE country or region, the Mavic Mini’s max image transmission distance can reach 2 km in 2.4 GHz and 500 m in 5.8 GHz ( if supported by local regulations );
If it is an SRRC or FCC country or region, the Mavic Mini’s max image transmission distance can reach 2 km in 2.4 GHz and 500 m in 5.8 GHz.
In addition, when the CE aircraft enters a country or region where 5.8 GHz is restricted, such as Japan, Russia, Israel, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan, DJI Fly will ban the 5.8 GHz according to the country code that has been identified, and therefore users can only choose 2.4 GHz. Please follow the local regulations when using the aircraft. Thank you and fly safe always.

a little correction Eka , this is the legal power in Europe!

CE - 2,4 GHz - Power 0.090 W   <19dBm (MIC/CE) - range 2km (better range but possibly more interference)
CE - 5,8 GHz - Power 0.025 W   <14dBM (CE)            range 500m (less range but possibly less interference)

Yes, in desert places it would help 2´4Ghz, in rural zones ,open fields with low wifi signals, but 2´4Ghz is more sensible to interference than 5,8Ghz.

Thank you for the numbers!
So does the FCC MM in CE areas always work on 0.025 mW or it powers down there to those 0.100mWatts?

I can't answer your direct question but I have to correct some previously posted information above, #5. The power is NOT 0.025mW. It is 25 mW or, if you prefer, 0.025Watts. Carry on ;-)

It's true GaryDoug, I was wrong and typed the wrong unit in the description. The right one is the Watt! thanks for correction. post #5 edited
