If you already had an Air, would you consider selling it to get a Mini? I like the size, reduced noise, increased battery power of the Mini. I use it mianly for photos, and sometimes for video. Is there anything major I'm going to lose? I know the Mini can't do RAW, but hoping DJI adds that with a future update. For those who have both or moved from an Air to a Mini, which do you prefer? Thanks!

There is no forward or rearward obstacle avoidance or active track features on the Mini.

I just got the mini, I like it fine. It is just so light that it doesn't like any kind of breeze at all.

You might want to wait for the new bird that 'should' arrive soon.

I bought Mini in addition to Air (and to P4P, too). All that drones are difficult...

Hi there, you may make a Consumer Drones Comparison from this link:

Then find the best DJI drone for you. Hope this can help you, thanks.

Wait Air 2, leave the Mini alone.

The Air 2 will have better features but the price I suspect to be around 900/1000 USD or 1100 USD if it has occusync 2.0. Also, the weight due to more features like Air Sense will be increased to 600gr/700gr.

After the launch of the Air 2, DJI will update the Mini firmware to include manual video control and more quickshots what will bring the Mini to close to what the Air has today. The Mini 2.7k image is better than the 4k of the Air.

The release of the SDK later this month also improves the chances that other apps will offer new features to the Mini.

I have the Mini and I am happy with it. I know it has limitations and some features that I would like to have. But for the price it is a very good drone. With the manual video and more quickshots it will be perfect for me and I won't spend 3 times the price to have the Air 2.

I think so and more people too. The Mini has the new Ambarella processor that it shares with the M2P which is much better than the Air processor. There are almost 2 years of interval between the models and  processors have giant leaps in that time frame. The new Air 2 will have of course a better image processor being the same of the Mini or a better one.

I sold my Air to get the mini. I regret it. The mini just hasn't proven to be very stable/reliable. Maybe with more updates it will get better, then it will be the perfect drone for me - until then, I made a mistake.

The air is very noisy. I like the fact you can throw the mini up at the beach or whatever and nobody knows it is there. You can't see it with the colouring also. Even 50m away I struggle to see it.

Getting from 430g to 600/700g would be fail IMPOV that seriously affects flight time (with 3S 3500mAh battery).

Only one thing that would favour such a change and that’s the prop noise, if you’re thinking of changing wait 12 days to see what Air2 brings.

I kept my air because of the build quality which is excellent best among all dji consumer drones, one problem noise but I’m. Over that now, love Mavic air .

For my personal usage the Mini is better than the Air. I Envy the Air's low light gathering, processing abilities and active track.

But the Mini is lighter, smaller and can fly for longer. I even like the shape better... it looks sweet, like a baby drone.

I agree. I didn't realize it was coming so soon until I got the latest DJI email. I will wait and decide. Sounds like I may need to get one of each

I’ve just heard it will have 34min battery Ocysync and camera will shoot 48mp stitched photos like Mavic zoom, not sure if it will have zoom that would be nice.

Ok I presume it’s rumor still ? 4K was a given MA1 is 4K , the 48mp requires zoom to take the Photo so I was kind of hoping that maybe zoom would be included . I here the flight time is 34min speed is about the same or just slightly less than MA1.

I would imagine fly app will have to be beefed up considering MA used go4 which was much superior in what it offered.
Interesting stuff, a bit of excitement good.

48 Mp using stitch of 12 Mp to compose the 48 Mp. DJI will have a higher resoluition than 4k in the Mavic 3 Pro. The Air 2 has to be limited in order to not overlap with the M2P, like the Mini was limited to 2.7k to separate from the Air 4K.

I have used the 48mp stitch with my zoom, I have just heard 4K is indeed upgraded to 60fps which is great I don’t need 6k or even want it, but 60fps in 4K is perfect, I also hear price is €799 combo sold separate €399 again rumor, so far it’s looking great as a travel drone.

That's what I have seen. Just the 4k60 I haven't seen. It could come with 4k30 and have a firmware update after the launch of Mavic 3 Pro to 4k60.

The price seems low for a drone with occusync. I was imagining more close to 899/999 USD.

Well from what I hear and read it’s same price as Mavic Air. Hopefully.

I think dji are usually good at listening to their customers and one of the biggest gripes customers had about MA1 was noise, so I’m presuming they will have made a big effort to reduce noise greatly.
