H3 3D gimbal twitching

My H3 3D gimbal twitches to the left and right during flight. Sometimes it rolls around as well. I have seen the reset procedures, but they all seem to say about powering on the Phantom.

Mine is attached to another quad, using the Zenmuse GCU. The software assistant turns into a cut down version when I connect.

Would following the usual reset instructions (shorting the 2 pins with tweezers) work on this version? Or is there another procedure available?

Any help appreciated.

Ben

Yes, I've updated it to the latest version, although it didn't change anything.

Have you tried facing it north at power on? Worth a try.

ha ha! I haven't tried that.

Maybe I'll just get Father Christmas to bring me a new one, as that's about as likely to happen..

Any sensible suggestions from anyone? Or even DJI??

This is a slow process. Maybe I'll just return it to the dealer.

Bit disappointed with the support (or lack of) from DJI here really. Over 9 days and the only suggestion was to face it North!

The reason they haven't posted a solution is because they aren't sure themselves how to fix it. Mine worked flawless until I updated and then the problems started. And without full access to firmware it will never be fixed. It's as good as f they want you to drop another 400 in an upgraded gimbal. My phantom 2 has been a great copter but I think it's time for a change.

The twitches problem has been resolved .  Users need only to update the gimbal firmware to the latest .The  latest version now is 1.12. Do you encounter any problem afte upgrade?

Facing north was a sensible suggestion, incidentally. It will cause the IMU to settle properly on initialization and has been a known working solution for many IMU's that have drift issues.

I have the same problem as OP and my firmware is the most recent. In my opinion, the H3-2D was a rock solid piece of equipment. Never had problems with it. The H3-3D is terrible. I've already returned two to my vendor.

I fixed mine by taping a U.S. penny to the back of the camera mount (opposite from the lens)  This balances the gimbal.  Since I did this, I have not had a single twitch.
