Which you would like to buy a new drone by Mavic Air 2 or Mavic Air?

I'd say the original Air. Video quality about equal for my use.

i don't get this. Why would anyone prefer the drone that is inferior from every single point of view?....

I think when you consider how much you paid for Air over 2 years ago and the huge improvements in tech it’s hard to see how you come up with that opinion .

Oh, the Air 2 is most definitely an improvement. However most of the flight mode improvements are meaningless to me since I never use them. Most of my flights are under 15 minutes as well and never far.

You can get the Original with Fly More Combo for $699 at Best Buy right now, that is the only reason to get the Air over the Air 2.

Not every single point of view.
The plus sides I can see for Air is weight, compactness, case, DJI GO4 app and most importantly price.
But yeah Air 2 beats t he Air easily.

Occusync alone makes the MA2 superior.

It's not though, the MA1 has redundant IMU and Accelerometers, the MA2 only has 1 of every sensor
The MA1 can use all the third party apps like Litchi, DroneDeploy, etc as DJI hasn't released the SDK for the MA2 until september supposedly.
DJI fly is a much worse app than GO 4 for telemetry,

Otherwise, I think everything else the MA2 spanks the crap out of the MA1

I've owned 12 DJI drones in my time. The MA2 is the only one I have flown that has never switched to ATTI mode in flight. The IMU and compass is outstanding.

The MA1 is a great drone in many ways and back in Jan 2018 when it was released it really bit at the heals of the original Mavic Pro but we are now in 2020 and the MA1 is a discontinued product. The MA2 is the best bang for buck drone on the market today IMO and is a vast improvement over it's predecessor.
