I have tried several times to update to the newest firmware (1.2.7) When I put the card into the P3 and turn it on, no firmware upgrade takes place. It does not even create a new .txt file telling me anything. When I checked the DJI pilot app, it said that firmware is up-to-date but I don't know how that can be.
Anyone else had this problem????

Make sure you are extracting the root file from the ZIP file. When you download the update from DJI it is in ZIP format. Extract the root file and move that to the SD card. For Phantom 3 advanced, you should have a file called "P3S_FW_V01.02.0007.bin" on your SD card.
Yes, only .BIN file should be in the mSD card, as per my experience. I just did update the latest release available (1.2.6) and noticed that took less than 15' for the P3P update and just 5' for the radio! Both .Txt file created reported "Success". Will check how it goes when fly testing.
