Hi folks. I wanted to create a 360 panorama by myself, starting from the 26 individual DNG that MA2 saved in the Panorama folder. I wanted to be able to color correct the resulting DNG file, instead of working on the poor JPG generated by the drone software.
I used the Spherical Panorama merge function of Lightroom. The result seems to be very good, but it is NOT a real 360 image: if you upload it to Google/Facebook/Kuula/etc, you have a... terrible result :-)
I've read in the following forum thread that Lightrom & Photoshop are simply not able to correctly stitch 360 panoramas:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop/360-spherical-panoramas/td-p/10213574?page=1
It is a 2018 thread, but after some research, it seems like nothing has changed: LR and PS are still not able to stitch 360 panoramas correctly.
I've then found this other thread:
https://www.dpnow.com/dji-drone-360-panos-make-them-with-lightroom-ice-and-photoshop/
The idea described here is to color correct the single DNGs in LR/PS, and then stitch them together using ICE, a free MS tool that does NOT export the final panorama as a DNG file, unfortunately. In fact, I would have preferred to first stitch the panorama with ICE, and THEN color correct the resulting DNG it in LR/PS,
Does anybody know if there is a tool that is able to stitch a usable 360 panorama, creating a DNG file?
TIA!
Bye,
A.-
