I have a smart contoller gathering dust so in the meantime and am wondering which Tablets work well.

Size ?   Is 7" or 8" the right size ?
Is 10" too big.
Brightness is measured in nits and the Smart Controller is 1000 nits
Most phones and tables are 300-600nits
So obviouly the higher that number the better.
I also do not need cell connection so wifi only will suffice.

Ok let me say what i would like.

8"
light weight
600+ nits
under US$200
wifi
I won't buy 2nd hand but a new tablet a couple of years old is fine.

Who has one that ticks those boxes or knows of one that is close...

But did not help.

Every one except 1 under mobile/tablet is a phone.
That was a Samsung  and that is a 10.4" and $350
I am assuming being HDR10+ certified means "bright"
My current phone was listed - a Note 10+ and that ain't that bright in full sunlight !!

Actually HDR10+ stands for High Dynamic Range display. For your Note 10 search the settings (maybe under battery) because it has one of the most competitive displays.

I do appreciate replies. Many forums are very slow to get even one answer.

I have had my note10 + on full brightness and  maybe it's my old eyes - i see very little difference.

"the panel's peak display brightness (1,308 nits) and full screen brightness (793 nits) are the highest values recorded by DisplayMate."

The numbers look good !
