So I updated my firmware (Phantom 3 Advanced Firmware v1.2.7 with P3S_FW_V01.02.0007.bin) on tuesday (6-16-2015). I did not fly it until 2 days later (6-18-2015) and it warned me there was a new update which is odd since I just updated it 2 days before. So I checked DJI's site and there is a new update (Phantom 3 Advanced Firmware v1.2.8 with P3S_FW_V01.02.0008.bin). But when I tried to update with the most recent firmware, the text file reads:

"==========2015.06.18 22:45:47==========
Packet: /mnt/usb/P3S_FW_V01.02.0008.bin,
Result: Abort
The firmware on the SD card is identical to or older than the current firmware on the remote controller"


I don't get it. It looks like the new firmware (P3S_FW_V01.02.0008.bin) is identical to the one (P3S_FW_V01.02.0007.bin) released a few days ago?

not only you have this update issue.~~~~

1.2.8 is ONLY for the Phantom 3 Advanced NOT the controller..

Dumb question. where was this messaging:

Its on the release notes PDF on the downloads page you get the firmware from ( although for some reason they put it near the bottom  of the page )..

I read elsewhere on this forum that you had to try twice, unplug battery, try again, eventually after a few attempts it will upgrade itself.

Thank you for your reply. It seems that my DJI updated but my controller would not update. I wish they would have had this messaging on the main page and not buried in the PDF.

I guess I will know if all is well when I goto fly it later.
