I've been waiting it out before updating but think I'll go ahead with it now over the weekend. I'm currently on firmware 1.1.9 so will I be able to go straight from 1.1.9 to 1.2.8 for both the aircraft and the controller? This is for P3 Advanced version. I never downloaded or upgraded to 1.2.7.   I see it's not even available on the DJI downloads page now. Thanks.

U should be able to as the 1.2.7 was only out for 1 single day.

I did not upgrade to 1.1.7 but went straight to 1.2.8 and had no problem with the update; however, I have not yet flown my P3A.

When I downloaded 1.2.8, 1.2.7 was also in the package. I had a hell of a time but finally got it to upgrade. You may need the 1.2.7 for the RC update. seems to be flying fine (short flights) but every time I start things up it tells me I need to upgrade the firmware even though it is upgraded.
This is like owning a real helicopter, 70 hours of maintenance for every hour of flight!

Thanks guys. I'll give it a go. I've done the couple of previous updates with success. Hopefully this one will be just fine also.

Since the update , I have gphad:
1 uncontrolled unstable auto takeoff and
2. at 240 m I got a sonic sensor error land immediately.
3. Calibrating the IMU now leaves me with long warmup phase
