It's insufferably hot and humid inland today. I thought I'd review some footage taken in cooler circumstances.
Off the Britanny coast near Loctudy in quite refreshing conditions.

I went to Epping Forest today - beautiful place but OMG - it was HOT! I didn't fly there though as had my wife and son with me and I didn't want a £200 fine if caught. Shame as it is a perfect area for drone flying.

The best stuff is often in no-fly zones.  Flying off the beach there is forbidden, all along the coast, but not over the sea - one of many senseless anomalies in the legislation. Solution is to hire a little rowing boat with an outboard motor for a couple of hours, sail out a couple of hundred meters into the bay at low tide - flat calm - and take off from there.  Landing again afterwards can be tricky, but a 50cm x 50cm plywood board across the benches inboard serves perfectly as a landing pad.  No harm, no foul

I'm thinking of hiring a boat when I head back to that monster sized reservoir later in the year - I tend to hand catch when landing these days - makes life easier

I've done that one or twice with the P4. The large skids are easy to get a firm grasp on. But even the slightest  movement rather than holding it perfectly still causes it to buck about alarmingly. And maybe we'll hand catch the Mini. But I prefer a nice flat landing pad for the Mavics. There's too much opportunity
for losing skin or even fingers

Yeah, you do have to be very careful - I launch from a pad or clear ground but generally hand land

We have three days of thunderstorms forecasted here but the temperature is not due to drop so I suspect its going to be very uncomfortable.

Same here. This morning I've been to Pontmain to get close-ups of the Basilica, as promised. Sunny, sultry with scattered cloud and we actually experienced some RAIN on the way there. No probs for the flight though. I'll be processing the footage this afternoon/ evening.

Hmm. Maybe it's the weather, but I had an equipment malfunction for the second of two videos this morning. Between the two, I switched off the drone and drove 2Kms to another spot to film the front elevation. That file is corrupted and cannot be read. I can only think that leaving the RC and phone switched on during the change of location is the cause. So it's operator malfunction I suspect.  So I'm off to re-do the second phase in 36 degrees and 46% relative humidity with Barometer at 1012mb. Then back for a couple of cold ones and a nap before editing.  Results tomorrow rather than this evening, I fear.
