That's a nice sphere.

I never get bored flying there - have done since 2016 and still discovering loads of new take off points. Never had any problems from officials either. There is a huge multi million pound development which I'm monitoring. I may retire here (in 20 years time)

Agreed. Now that I've been off work, I found that retirement my
be harder than most think. During the summer months it's not so bad
because I garden and do thing around the house but that gets old quick.
I can only imagine what the winter months are like. But saying retirement sounds good.

I'm taking this summer off as my 3 year old sons nursery was closed down due to covid-19 - hence why I returned to drones and got myself the MA2. It supplements things but I will be returning to work before the end of the year. As lovely as it's been the thought of never working again makes things feel final if that makes sense

It makes a lot of sense. I'm in the same boat, my wife had breast
cancer, so to protect her I've been off work since March, but should start
working from home Sept 1. It's going to be a hard transition because I'm
use to going to the office 40 plus hours a week.

Retirement to me does sound final in a way. I'll probably never quit working at something until I just can't anymore. I told my fiance that I'd probably take a door greeter job at Walmart just to keep from getting bored from having nothing to do. I'm trying to get her involved with flying drones so that could be something we can do together.

Returning to work after a two-week holiday is bad enough but after a few months it's going to be tough

I know a few older gents who now fly drones professionally in their retirement - I think thats what I'll end up doing.

That is not a bad thought and one that has been in the back of my mind here lately. I just need to see how things play out with the FAA here in the states. That and get off my keister and get my part 107.

Hahaha - you'll definitely need the 107 to profit form the use of the airspace over there. It's not that difficult from what I've seen and if you develop your own business whilst falling back on your pension/s and savings then that will take the financial pressure off. Some people over here charge several hundred for a days work!

She doing great and yes in remission. There are a few lingering
issues that we had to put off because of Covid-19. Soon hopefully

I feel for you man. I haven't been through that personally but I have some close family that has. My thoughts and prayers that all is good with your wife is with you!!

Thats great news mate - cancer is one of the worst things to happen to anyone or family but in this pandemic it is even worse. You're a strong man Woe - credit to you!
