Thus far, the story is just that, a story.

Started out a reporter on AF-1 saw an small unknown object flying below AF-1; as AF-1 was landing.
After landing reporter said object resembled a drone.
As story flows through the Fake news, the small UFO is referenced more and more as a drone.

Fake news, needing new click-bait, add that AF-1 flew "right over" the drone.
Which is further modified to a "near hit" by drone on AF-1.
Along with AF-1 "nearly being struck by drone".  Fake story moving to drone targeting AF-1.

Officially, the Pentagon, White House, FAA, and likely a few other agencies are still investigating.
No official word as to what small unknown flying object was.   Could have been a shaped party balloon, could have been a bird, could have been anything wind could lift and blow around.
Even if it was a drone, it does not mean the drone was being flown by a hobbyist.  Drones are being used by military and law enforcement for recon and surveillance.

Knowing how inept our government agencies can be, and how security clearances do not cross over between agencies (or military); it could all come down to - Left-hand not knowing what Right-hand was doing.   And due to embarrassment / repercussions we may never know or hobbyists will be scapegoat to blame.

PS: Nothing against the OP.
Just fed-up with news media, fabricating news; instead of reporting facts.

Even if it is fake news (and it wouldn't surprise me) its wouldn't stop a knee jerk reaction from the president.

The report I read said it appeared to be X-shaped. Doesn't sound like a party balloon.

Also, never listen to anyone using the term "Fake news". That is just a cover for ignorance.

And it is not the first time that a drone has violated space around the president.

It's not fabricating news to accurately report what an observer reported seeing.

Try looking at my post right above the one you commented about.

It went from reporter who was on AF-1 saying it was small unknown object flying below AF-1 as plane landed to AF-1 "nearly hit" by a drone and AF-1 "nearly being struck by drone".

What I said stands.  News media, fabricating news; instead of reporting facts.

Thought anything approaching AF1 would have been spotted by the planes defence systems, so a drone packed with explosives has got a chance of taking AF1 down, don't look good does it.

Which surely means it was a false sighting.
