What is the approximate flying distance while being able to film and see that on a a monitor vs Ipod

Someone told me that with WiFi on the ipond the distance is 500 feet while with a monitor and radio frequency it could be 3 or 4 times that easy

What is everyones personal experience ?

There is no wifi with the P3. Thats why you have a hard wire connection. The device doesn't make a difference.
