In one of my last flights I had an emergency 'return to home' situation.
With maybe 45% battery the mini was determent to return to home by steadily losing heighth.
As it came near to me I saw it trembling and tumbling, so I decided to land it in the meadow.

Culprit was a lost propeller. The motor was warm, 7/8 propellers were still in place, the mini still fully functional.

After screwing on a new pair I checked the other screws. One was a little loose, I replaced it with a new one.
My last check was maybe 3 months ago.

So please learn from my mistake and check your screws every few weeks.

Happy flying!

I check at least once every week just to be on the safe side, well to be honest i do a little maintenance every week without fail on my drones especially with visual checks being done out in the field as well as just before preparing to go out, but yes, it can not hurt to just do quick inspections before flying.

Thanks for the heads up. Glad you suffered no loss due to the mishap (apart from one prop!) I'll check our Mini before taking it out again.

Always sensible to complete a preflight check list - checking the props before each flight is near the top of the list. Despite all of the tech and advancements these drones offer the failure of just one plastic prop on a quadcopter is game over!

Thanks for sharing. Checking prop screws is always a part of my preflight check list but this is a great reminder.

Good reminder on the screws and use of checklists.  When I was learning to fly airplanes 40 something years ago, that was drilled into our heads - always use the checklists...
