I know this question has been asked and I hate to bring it up again but I am very new to drones in general and am hoping someone could advise me on the best route to take.
We just got a Mavic 2 Air for our 501c3. A sponsor also donated a brand new Smart Controller. After setting it up I realized it wasn't compatable so I started doing searches and have found where it states that it will be compatable, in future firmware udpates, but no one knows when that will be. The only thing I have been able to find even close to an answer is:
Hello there. Thank you for reaching out and for this inquiry. As of the moment, we do not have any information if DJI will release a DJI Mavic Air 2 - Smart Controller Bundle and with DJI's future products. Kindly please stay tuned to the latest updates by subscribing to DJI official website at www.dji.com or following us on social media ( Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DJI , Twitter: https://twitter.com/djiglobal , YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/djiinnovations ). In addition the DJI Mavic Air 2 will be compatible with the DJI Smart Controller through a future firmware update. Thank you for your support and please stay safe always.
With that, I am trying to figure out if we should keep the controller that was donated or send it back and ask them to just donate to the 501c3 instead? I hate having something that cost that much if we won't be able to use it anytime soon.
Thanks all!
