I know this question has been asked and I hate to bring it up again but I am very new to drones in general and am hoping someone could advise me on the best route to take.
We just got a Mavic 2 Air for our 501c3.  A sponsor also donated a brand new Smart Controller.   After setting it up I realized it wasn't compatable so I started doing searches and have found where it states that it will be compatable, in future firmware udpates, but no one knows when that will be.    The only thing I have been able to find even close to an answer is:

With that, I am trying to figure out if we should keep the controller that was donated or send it back and ask them to just donate to the 501c3 instead? I hate having something that cost that much if we won't be able to use it anytime soon.

I actually saw a DJI official confirmation SC support for MA2 is in beta testers hands currently. Granted last time this (smart controller support) happened it was to support the P4P2 and it was another year before that beta was released to the public

I have a feeling that MA2 support is just around the corner.  I suggest you keep the SC.
