Just got a Mavic Air 2 Fly More Combo yesterday and have just got it setup, updated the firmware as prompted and all went well, weather is rubbish at the moment but just wanted to have a quick fly, so took off in living room, no matter what position the switch on controller is appears the obstacle sensors dont work. I've had quite a few DJI drones in the past and I know they dont work in sport mode, but this will just continue to move foward, backward and down despite me causing an obvious obstacle, doesnt give me great hope taking it outside, I've done compass and imu calibration which were ok (took a couple of attempts) but the calibration fails using dji assistant on the second run at the same place (bottom right corner) each time. Any ideas?

Firstly, by not taking the drone outside I take it that you calibrated the compass indoors? You should never do that - only calibrate in a wide open area away from any electromagnetism and metal objects.

The OA sensors need plenty of light to function properly - indoor light can be deceptive and not bright enough for the sensors to work.

I suggest waiting until you have properly flown the drone outdoors.

Ok thanks I will try that, all my previous dji drones sensors worked in doors but I guess I'll have to wait till  weather improves still its not allowing me to calibrate using dji assistant on two different pc's, screens and cables?

Are you referring to calibrating the OA sensors? If so, be sure to install the correct version of DJI Assistant 2 FOR MAVIC https://www.dji.com/uk/mavic-air-2/downloads

Also reduce your display screen size by scaling it down to 720.

Thanks and yes thats the version I've downloaded, will try on lower resolution to see if that works, it kept freezing but the two little screens showing what the sensors at the front were seeing kept moving

Cool - this is a great YT video from drone tech media on how to do it. He uses this forum too BTW.

Whilst it is for the M2P the principle is the same for all DJI drones that have OA.

So i tried it set at 1280x720, got to the end but then got an error from DJI Assistant saying it couldn't recognise the resolution, my screen is a 2580x1080 screen (34" ultrawide) sons is connected to a 32" 1080p TV, now going to try on wifes pc which is a 24" 1080p Monitor, never had this issue in the past, I was also getting aircraft movement errors when set at 1080p

Why did you attempt to calibrate OA sensors? These are calibrated at factory and should work just fine until the app display a warning and request for re-calibration ...

I did this because I thought the sensors were faulty when I couldnt get them to recognise anything when hovering in doors, I appreciate now that the lighting may not have been good enough but as I said in the past with my mavics and m2zoom they worked indoors

Hello there Bradmax57. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused and thank you for reaching out. Please try to calibrate your DJI Mavic Air 2 using a monitor display of 14 inches or bigger is recommended for the calibration. Please set the display’s resolution to the recommended default value. ( Usually, the 14-inch display’s resolution should be set at 1366*768 or 1440*900. The 17-inch display’s resolution: 1366*768 or 1280*720. The 19-inch display’s resolution: 1366*768 or 1440*900. The 22-inch display’s resolution: 1680*1050 or 1920*1080. The 24-inch display’s resolution: 1920*1080 or 1920*1200.) Thank you.
