Another battery for Mavic 2 is getting pregnant, and now I have a total of 5 batteries out of 8 are swollen. Two of the 3 good batteries were bought from DJI at the end of May, 2020 and one was a gift from my friend.

As an experienced pilot, I know how to keep the battery, and I even do not charge immediately after a fly. I wasted over 700 dollars for the stupid battery. It is ridiculous.

My friend dropped the drone at Palouse month ago on wheat land due to swollen battery too (battery jumped out during fly). I dare not to use the swollen battery (even very light swollen). It is very high risk as I know.

There is no problem for the batteries from my Mavic Platinum and Phantom 4 pro+, even they are used much longer than Mavic 2.

  Totally designing defect!

Yes, another pregnant battery, although the baby delivered is not another battery but a dead battery!

Hope that DJI will keep its famous name by recalling and replacing any swollen battery!

Dji should do a recall on these batteries if a certain production batch was faulty, there are so many posts now on here and Mavic pilots of these battery issues. Any Dji Moderator wants to step in here and talk to their company and provide feed back.

Dead baby should be fine, but if the dead baby kills his mother, that will be sucks!

It seems DJI Moderator rejected to answer and to solve the problem.

They always persisted, that it was of misuse.

What I want to say: IT IS NOT TRUE.

Why my three years old battery from Phantom 4  have no swollen at all  ?
Why three years old battery from Platinum can fly 4min longer than a brand new Mavic 2 battery?

So they can either do a recall and lose millions of dollars, or they can just pretend it's not a problem and keep telling people that it's their fault that the batteries swell. Considering this usually happens after the  warranty period is over, it's pretty obvious which choice they'll go with.

This is a big business for a designed lifespan for many maker,  such as car maker. They will not likely to accept any recall or replacement.

So, you didn't ask DJI to replace your swollen batteries? Do you expect them to make a phone call and ask how are you ?

I am curious about your battery dilemma and I would ask how many cycles are on the 5 that started swelling (they look to be over 2 years old)? Also, what conditions do you normally keep them? Do you let them self-discharge? Do you leave them at a certain level when storing? What kind of environment do you live/have the drone normally eg. hot, cool, humid, dry stored in a climate-controlled area or in a garage/basement, etc?
I ask because I live in Phoenix so I have an extreme of temps here and would love to prevent the swelling and you seem to be experiencing an inordinate amount of failures!

I live a normal environment with great air conditioner, which keep the temperature about 23C all seasons. I never like to put the drone case in my car, and only right before a trip of photo. If I have no plan to use for long time, I prefer to keep the battery in my refrigerator in a well-sealed bag, which is not easy to accumulate heat (you know the procedure to discharge may increase temperature.

Sometime I give them full charged if the weather allow to fly more.   Beware that my batteries from other two drones have no problem at all.
