I want to ask the opinion of users here irrespective of mini being CE or FCC. In your experience which gives the best range before the RC disconnects with the mini? 2.4 or 5 ghz?

Hello there nikagrawal. Thank you for reaching out and for posting this information here at DJI Forum. The difference between 2.4 and 5.8GHz, I would say it is about the interference. Many Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices use 2.4GHz channels, so the interference on 2.4GHz would be great, and 5.8GHz has cleaner channels. In addition I hope that you will get the best information you need from our fellow DJI co pilots with regards to this matter. Thank you.

2.4GHz goes further than 5GHz so for best range you want 2.4GHz.  However, because there is more 2.4GHz in use (nearly all routers/APs that do 5GHz also have 2.4GHz as well for older devices to connect), and because it travels further so is more likely to overlap, then in built up areas it is likely to be worse than 5GHz because of interference.  However, if you are at a location with no or little Wi-Fi around, like out in the countryside with no or few buildings, then 2.4GHz is the better choice for sure.  2.4GHz has more than enough bandwidth for the video and control signals the Mini sends so if interference isn't an issue then it's definitely the better choice for distance and reliability.

In short, 5GHz probably best in built up areas due to interference, but 2.4GHz everywhere else for distance.

To be real, FCC is the better option.
