Hi,

I crashed into a tree trying to filming this bridge. It was a nice day for flying but something was wrong. Please take note taking off under a tree is high risky.

I was lucky and no visible damage. After a bit of cleaning I was on the air again and cathed amazing views of the bridge, the hill and the nearby town

The Mini seems to be robust to these types of crashes. Earlier this summer I flew my 5" aerobatic quad at high speed through a tree crotch and accidentally clipped a branch with a prop. That caused the quad to spin out of control at about 60MPH and hit the ground and cartwheel for 100 feet! Other than some broken props, it was undamaged.

That was similar to the issue I had with my Mini crash - but I was not quite so lucky.  In my case, I had taken off and cleared the tree, but on a RTH, the Mini descended into the edge of the tree and I was unable to abort the RTH because the App decided that it was a good time to lock up.  I had some damage that cost me $94.77 to get fixed.  I wrote about mine at:
