Thats quite common with most not realising that the internal wall may also be a support wall and they hack away only to realise the property starts to suffer from subsidence

Yeah, I have heard those examples too here in NL.
Luckily this was in a stage where they could re locate the wall easily
Better do it now than afterwards.

!00% get it done now. Any work built around a faulty foundation will just be a total waste of effort and money and often leads to the renovation project coming to a halt due to the added time and costs. In most cases not even being able to be completed at all and sold at a massive loss.

I'm sure they did mate - no cutting corners with a project that big. I've seen people go bankrupt and their dreams crushed by doing so.
