Hello all,

I have my hands on a complete and what I believe to be a working Naza-M V2 DJI kit. It was stripped off of a drone found at the dump along with a bunch of other various drone parts, and I would really like to get a custom drone up and running if I can. I've done some research and it appears the support is a little outdated for these things, but it still looks like people are running these systems so I would really like to see if I can get this system up and flying.

What I have been able to do so far is get the Naza-M assistant downloaded and running, as well as the accompanying drivers for it installed onto the computer and in the DJI folder. This alone was a headache and an immense amount of progress due to the various Windows 10 features that exist to make your life misserable for even thinking about installing legacy software. That being said, I of course am hindered at the very last step, which is actually updating the Maza device drivers through the device manager settings. The first tell tale sign that doesn't look right is that the maza device won't show up in my com ports section, but it does pop up when plugged in under a universal serial bus controllers section, and labelled as "Unkown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)". Okay no biggie, should be fixed after updating the drivers? Wrong . I am following the directions in this video (https://youtu.be/YxE6fEBaCaY), to what I believe is exactly how he is stating to do so. The issue I am getting however is that when I go into the DJI folder under program files, and select the 64 bit driver file as the file to update my driver, the second I hit okay I receive an error stating, "The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems.". I believe the error lies in the fact the my computer is not initially recognizing the device and setting up a com port for it, but when I look this issue up, everyone is saying it goes away when "drivers are updated". My issue is I just can't update them until I fix the first problem stated. The other possible issue may be the problem with dji not having their drivers signed by windows, but I am doing everything as shown in the video to disable windows from needing the drivers to be signed to install them onto the device. I have spent well over 5 hours on this between research and uninstalling/installing multiple times that I feel like I've hit a dead end as far as to what I can find online for help at the moment.

Does anyone know whats going on or have experienced/fixed this issue themselves? I realize this is an extremely old system but there still has to be a good number of people using them as it seems like when they did work, they worked great

Hi!
You might be better off posting your question in the 'products' section of this forum.
That is way more active.

Hi, thank you for the reply! I'm new to the dji community so I was unsure where exactly to place this question. I appreciate you helping to point me to a better place to go. I did take a look at the products tab, but couldn't find a suitable product to place my question under as this product isn't really a "drone" rather a kit to build your own, but it is indeed DJI branded. Do you have any suggestions as to which product I could place this thread under so as to not anger anyone for misplacing my problem? Thank you again!

I'm thinking that "Accessories" may be a good place.

No problem at all.
I just hope you find somebody that knows an answer!
I never searched for that category (because I don't own one) so I'm not sure.
But at least that main category (Products) has way more viewers!

I was unaware that you could post to the main category, that works perfect! Hopefully I can pickup much more traffic over there!

It is very hard to trick the Win10 with this, and also takes time as you need to modify manually the driver and Windows registry in order to have the same description data...Even if you try and force the installing of driver as Manual and Not signed driver, probably will have same error with Unknown USB device, as the driver have a specific ID that is not in Registry...Try to update the Mainboard drivers first...then restart...delete the Unknown Device...rescan...choose driver manually and "Have disk" and also "unsopported driver" checked...add manually the driver from folder...will give you again an error...restart....delete Device...rescan. If this not helps, is too complicated to explain you how to make the manual edit, maybe you find it on Youtube, is mid-high level skill. Cheers.

Thank you for taking your time to give some insight into this issue I am facing! I'm assuming that updating the mainboard is referring to the motherboard of my desktop?  The desktop is custom built by me so I have some freedom with accessing hardware and modifying it if needed. Just darn windows 10 that is a pain lol! I will take your advice on restarting and deleting and see if I can play around enough to get the computer to accept the drivers as valid ones. They install just fine through command line as an admin, just trying to get them onto the naza device is where I'm getting stuck. I know you mentioned modifying the drivers is complicated, but I'm pretty comfortable with computers so if there is any chance you could point me to the right direction in where I could learn to do that I would really really appreciate that. I have some time I can afford to waste on this

Hi, Is far to complicated to write all, as you can have a lot of possibilities in registry...Will see if there will be time for a Team View in order to try to help, but cannot promise when, my calendar is messed up right now.
Will keep you posted.
