This technique works great with a tripod, with a drone not so much. I guess you could try stacking short exposure images, that might work.

a lot depends of the wind. With just a light breeze, they are stable enough. And like CV said "take a lot of photos". On the tiny screen they might look good, but when you see them on your computer screen at home, they are blurred.

I had very mixed results with my MP and long shutter shots (between 1/10 and 2 sec)
Most came out blurred since it is hard for those birds to stay completely still.
So indeed, take as much as you can.....

Thanks for sharing.

You can shoot 4s video with 30fps at 1/30, instead of 4s single exposure.
Then extract each frame, align it with geometrical corrections and stack.
This eliminates the the camera shake, you also gather more light, because you skip or use less dense filter, so better SNR as well.
The only downside is you get some encoding artifacts and require a lot of manual work for an 8MP final image.

Thanks for sharing, will be sure to try this at some point.
