I am looking for a Gimbal/Camera I can use for shooting in nature, while hiking, and, at times, in extreme situations ( mountain climbing, rappelling, etc ).
I must say that I have found none of DJI products suitable for the task...
DJI Osmo Action is a Gr8 camera, but, has no Gimbal stabilization and while the digital stabilization is good, orientation can never be locked...
Ronin RS2, while this is a Gr8 gimbal supporting tracking w/ the build in display, and, supporting pro 3rd party cameras, it's big, and somewhat cumbersome to operate in challenging enviroments, no real support for the pull and shoot scenario... can't really take with me on nature adventures...
Osmo mobile 4 it's good, limited to the phone battery capacity and video capabilities, abit cumbersome to operate while hiking IMO...
DJI Osmo Pocket 2 this is as close as it gets to what I really need, it is small and can be pulled out easily, really suitable for the pull & shoot scenario, but, it's tracking is crappy and limited to 1080p, it's dynamic range is 8bit only, it's really Rec.709 limited... no replacement battery, and, the gimbal is somewhat fradgile ...

I wish DJI would have a pro version for the Pocket 2 camera, even if it would have been twice as big...
For the time being, a simple & cheap GoPro compatible gimbal is the most cost effective for my needs...

Hello there, thank you for reaching out with us. You can check the compact camera gimbal Ronin-SC/RSC 2 as it is foldable and also support the mirrorless camera, both of which meet your requirements on easy operating on the outside. Please find more information on the Ronin series comparison: https://www.dji.com/products/comparison-rs

Thanks

this is not something I can carry in my back-pack, pull & shoot... need to mount the camera every time again and again... not something I can pull out and shoot with while walking
