I have installed the Flysight Black Pearl FPV kit on Phantom 2 vision. do I still need the range extender?
Was that for the for the Camera or for the remote?

The Range Extender is for the Wifi that supports the video (FPV) feed, and also sends back the current flight data (altitude, battery life, distance, etc.) to your 'smart' device. It has nothing to do with controlling the Phantom using the remote. Not knowing anything about the Flysight (HW?  SW?) or how it works, but I would think they would indicate whether it uses the extender or not in the instructions?

Your information is contradictory..
Can you confirm if your phantom 2 is:
Phantom 2 - 2.4Ghz (usually comes with no camera). Uses 5.8Ghz FPV and preferably gopro as the camera. The Flysight Black pearl is the Receiver display.
OR
Phantom 2 Vision Series - 5.8Ghz (comes with DJI camera). Uses 2.4Ghz Wifi  RANGE EXTENDER for FPV via a smart phone/device.

I assume its the 2.4Ghz system and therefore NO range extender is required.
