Just enjoying with my children at balcony, and trying to make us in position for quickshot as the drone was hovering stably, suddenly... In a 1 second like someone took over all control over drone and fully accelerated in wall!!!!
In later hours that day I was wondering if is possible to have some extra evil neighbors with some signal jammer or don't know what!?

With all due respect, the crash would not have been caused by you updating the Fly app as your title suggests. Updating an app does not result in a drone crashing.

Oh I definitely don't want to imply that the crash was your fault. It may have been a malfunction somewhere in the hardware, who knows. If you can upload the flight log, one of the experts here can analyse it and tell you more about possible cause.

My guess is a compass related fly-away *....but guessing is not a way to analyse what really happend, so upload your flightlog to get the answer.

* if so, pilot error, flying away from a balcony is never a good idea....for many reasons.
a) compass errors as most likely iron in the balcony upset the drone compass at powering up.
b) RTH setting is akward ; or it must be the most upper balcony with free air above it.

I think I posted this before, Phantomhelp cannot upload files for the Mini 2 since app update 1.2.2.
The website owner, I believe, is still working on a fix to overcome this.

Not sure if you did it correct, flightlogs has the following format

for example: "DJIFlightRecord_2021-01-16_[12-30-59].txt"

your logs started with crash...., so you did change the original file or ?
In your log.txt  a link to github....
Only the original file, from your mobile device is 'readable', or did you not use the DJI FlyApp for this flight?

yes, well i use wifi transfer...so i link my mobile device to my PC via wifi.
Than on the PC i can view the content of my phone and copy paste flightrecord to my PC

yes,

All flight without a GPS lock !  Zero satellites and ofcourse zero for reception.First part in OPTI mode, so stable in flight.
At the end it lost visual reference, thus in ATTI mode, in ATTI mode no 'brakes' so hard to control.
I do not see any compass related issue.

No,  not using a drone as it should be used can make a small drone to a 'weapon'.
ATTI mode is controllable if you have the experience and enough free space for the drone.
Not flying close to a building starting from a balcony.
Ofcourse in your flight no HP was set, so what if your drone did loose connection ??

Always wait for a GPS lock, in ATTI mode full stick forward/aft or left/right will increase speed to its maximum!  and releasing sticks (all to zero) does not stop the drone!

Sorry to hear about your crash.  You were luck to get one of the gurus to review you logs.  JJB, is a wealth of knowledge and incredible at interpreting logs.  

What JJB is saying about the lack of satellite locks and no HomePoint set makes sense that ATTI mode was engaged.  For normal flight a GPS lock is an essential part of navigation and automated flight which can include how the drone handles wind and control inputs.  

Taking off before having a good GPS lock is a common error that most new pilots make.  This includes myself when I first started out.

Hi,

Had a look at your flights, well i 'randomly' picked one flight (DJIFlightRecord_2021-01-06_[11-55-16].txt) ; wich was the largest file.

Take off in the park i guess, with no GPS lock at start, OPTI and ATTI flight, after 18secs in flight HP set.
See the orange marker, above trees.  No a disconnect RTH could end you being not that happy.

The incident you described is a classic yaw error, caused by launching from somewhere close to steel that's deflected the compass which the gyro sensors use to initialise.

What's that made of?
How much steel is in it?

Don't launch from reinforced concrete surfaces

btw .. calibrating your compass won't prevent yaw errors.

That's ok, I agree it was stupid thing to do. Thought if it was ok because first 20 times flights from same balcony was with no problems.
But these flight scared me a lot.
I'm ok with slow movements ( let say it's fine with me to move 3-4 meters in every possible direction) of drone in hovering when losing GPS signal and lower sensor.
But what the hell was hovering  and FULL speed to the left , no wind , clearly sunlight visibility, only reason to do such thing is no gps and lower sensor not working on 12-15 meter hight.
Thinking to buy helmets for my children for future flights in no urban , metal free area
