Hello,
Trying to get my Phanton 1.1.1 to communicate with Phantom Assistant

Here's what I've done...

1). Downloaded NAZAM Assistant 2.20  (From Phanton 1 download section)
2). Downloaded Windows DJI Driver (From Phanton 1 download section)
3). Installed Battery into Phantom (but not yet connected)  (fully charged)
4). Connected USB cable to gray USB connector from Phantom
5). Turned on transmitter
6). Connected Battery to Phantom Battery connector (Phantom powers up)
7). Installed Windows Driver onto PC (AMD, Windows 7)
8). Restarted PC
9). Installed NAZAM Assistant 2.20
10). Restarted PC

Tried uninstalling driver and assistant and reinstalling several times.

Cannot ever get a connection

Anything obvious I'm doing wrong?

With the copter connected I had to go to this PC Win 8 and find the connection then I hit troubleshoot and it said searching fro driver. When it found it I clicked ok to download and it loaded up the driver and I connected. Not sure how it works in Win 7 but you probably  know how to.

Ok, all good.
I have two computers.  My main computer and my wife's laptop.
Under no circumstances could I ever get connection on my main computer.   Now I can say it probably has issues withthe serial bus that affects it's ability to communicate over the COM port for the DJI Win driver.

I had tried my wife's laptop on day one with no luck there either.   Same problem connecting so I began to assume it was the Phantom's NAZA or VU module.

Today I went back to her laptop, removed boththe Wind driver and assistant, then re-installed the DJI Win driver doe Windows 7 AS ADMINSRTATOR.
During the procedure it asked me to power up the Quad and plug it into the computer....I did
That finished successfully

Next I installed the Assistant (never disconnecting the Phantom).   Again I ran the install AS ADMINSTRATOR.

After installing the Assistant I launched it AS ADMINSTRATOR and to my great joy, it connected immediately.

Now it seems to connect almost instantly every time so I am thrilled to know that I may not have to send the Phantom back after all.
