Finally figured it out you have to go to DJI and download the app on their website not Google play for android.  Install the application and you will be able to activate it.

Dude... I spent way too long trying to figure out why my system wouldn't connect to that Google Play app yesterday. I finally went looking for an .apk in the wild and saw it on DJI.com once I ran that one everything was perfect... What. The. Hell.
How could the Play Store not have the right version on what was essentially opening day?

Same here!  Drained my first battery pack figuring out how to get it activated

Hahaha! Me too! I was furious... On a side note, I can't get that virtual flight app to work.. Have you tried that yet?
