I thought I would post a still image.  Something I like about drones is the way it reveals things you wouldn't normally see.  From the ground this is 'normal' moorland but from above you can see the scars from heath harvesting done a few years ago.

And that can lead to other things.  Since taking this I found out that in WWII bombs were dropped over here and perfectly circular ponds  remain in the caters they made.

Is that peat-cutting?  Nice view.

Beats crop circles - we must obviously be more intelligent than the aliens - mainly because they came here, meantime we want to leave and go elsewhere in the universe
and why just make crop circles? We were able to make pictures of things long long ago in the Nazca desert.

Now there is a place I'd like to fly my drone!

thanks, actually no - it's not peat cutting.  My understanding is that a few years ago they dug up strips of heather and transported it from Derbyshire to the Yorkshire moors as part of moorland restoration.

I like the saying "it's hard to see the forest for the trees".  But you truly can't see from ground level what beauty is available from above.  While flying my drone a few years back at a relative's farm I discovered an old steam powered tractor that had been surrounded by a thicket of bushes.  It was not visible from ground level but just enough showing from the drone's view.  He cleared the thicket and towed the tractor back to his barn.  After a little research he found out it was made in 1906.  He donated it to a museum.
