I fully agree, but if you buy a car, which is according the mfg able to go 160mph, and in reality, you only get 16mph..... what would you say??? This is exactly what i have, no?
That's a flawed analogy because a car's maximum speed is very predictable and dependent on few factors (air density, tire friction, to some extend gasoline quality). If the manufacture claimed 160 MPH and you can't go over 80 MPH, you'd have a strong case.
Reaching the maximum range of a drone requires an unobstructed line of sight and a complete lack of interference from the environment. That means radio sources like Wifi networks, microwave ovens, cell phones, radio towers, high voltage power lines, the mobile device used with the controller and more.
Finally, you need to keep the antenna on the controller properly oriented towards the drone.
Given that the law requires you to maintain visual contact with the drone anyway, the range you're able to achieve should be more than adequate. |
