Is calibration routinely required on the DJI FPV or Motion Controller?

I used to own the Phantom 3 and took a break and now have the DJI FPV.
I remember having to calibrate the compass before every flight location on the Phantom.

I don't see any recommendations to need to calibrate (even in new locations?) with the FPV, or even out of the box.
Is this no longer required with the FPV series?

In addition, I tried to calibrate the Motion Controller, due to MC interference error, but it always fails.
