I just found that my MP4 file contains 2 video streams on I need 4K H.265 and one FHD H.264????
Video: HVC1 3840x2160 59.94fps 121963kbps [V: hevc main, yuv420p, 3840x2160, 121963 kb/s]
Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x1080 29.97fps 31016kbps [V: h264 high L4.1, yuv420p, 1920x1080, 31016 kb/s]
Audio: AAC 48000Hz stereo 573kbps [A: SoundHandler (aac lc, 48000 Hz, stereo, 573 kb/s)]

Why is this waste of space??? And can I switch it off? I need only H.265 4K streem!

Are you sure the two files are from the same period of time?
As @Pajomota said, I don't see this myself.
You can select the file type in one of the goggle menus. I find the 4K video so huge that I usually use 1080P for just fun flights.

Might be I did not explain it well - the file is One .MP4 But inside the container there 2 streams - The main one 4K 60 fps takes ~70% of space but there FHD stream fully redundant (I suspect that's the one googles saves ?)

How come my unit starts a new file, every 2.5 to 3 gig in size. I can stitch them together in editing no problem, but wonder why ???

Yes, drone write 2 stream in to container .MOV or .MP4. And it's none possible to off. DJI team, please answer, what for it need?

Hello,

I confirm, there are 2 streams in one file, for MP4 or MOV, from device recorded. I changed and tested mostly all camera settings, same issue, always 2 streams in one file in the device (not goggles). This is really a waste of storage in the SD card, which is quickly full with one run of 15 minutes in 4K.

I want to record in HEVC, so I tested many sets :

mov – 4K – record both  
mp4 – 4K – record both
mov – 4K – record only device  
mp4 – 4K – record only device
mov – 1080p – record both
mov – 1080p – record both
mov – 1080p – record only device
mov – 1080p – record only device

All create one file with 2 streams inside : HEVC+AVC

Here is a command, for linux, to split a recorded file to two files, file 1: HEVC, file 2: AVC
ffmpeg -i 'DJI_0001.MP4' -map 0:v:0 -c copy "DJI_0001.MP4-HEVC.mkv" && ffmpeg -i 'DJI_0001.MP4' -map 0:v:1 -c copy "DJI_0001.MP4-AVC.mkv"

Only thread I could find about this issue - and it is an issue for me!
For some reason, my video editor Vegas doesn't seem to appreciate there being two video tracks and therefore only managed to import the audio.
Here's a picture from Media Player Classic showing the two tracks:

I've contacted DJI support about it, we'll see if there's a solution there - but meanwhile, anyone have a trick for pulling out track 2 in Windows?
