Quick question. Can the controller that came with the Air 2S be also used with the Mini 2. I understand you'd have to re-pair each one but just wondered if it was possible?

Sure, it works with both you just have to pair them.

Hello there happyflyer. Good day and thank you for reaching out. As posted above, yes, you may use the DJI Air 2S remote controller on the DJI Mini 2. All you need to do is to link the said DJI remote controller to the said DJI drone. Thank you.
