Has anyone used the propeller guards on your P3 and if so have you experienced any loss of performance etc?

Don't do it.  

Been using them on my advanced since I got it. seems to run just fine. They are P2 versions too!!! the horror!!!

Oh, I am running old firmware too.

I use them all the time on my P3.  No issues whatsoever.

Have only ever used them on my P3A.
Been totally fine, no problems at all.
In fact, they've saved me once or twice.

But I realize it's difficult to get consistent answers on this forum.
For almost any topic where someone asks should I or shouldn't I, typically about half the replies will say they have had no problems and the other half will say it causes all kinds of problems.
For most things you have to experiment yourself.
If more folks reply it will be interesting to see how it tallies up in this instance.

jguay64, prop guards are perfectly safe to use. Here are the most common problems with them:

- People buy P2 props guards (which have the wrong size screws), attach them, and the screws get lodged in the motors and ruin them.
- People remove their prop guards, re-insert the prop guard screws into the motors, and the screws get lodged in the motors and ruin them. When removing prop guards, it's very important to re-insert the original motor screws.

No performance issues that are really evident, but in nose down attitudes (higher speeds), its easier to get the prop guards in the camera's field of view.

DW_SKYJOCKEY, good point. You could work around that issue by flying backwards.
